Our Mission

While we recognize that the best place for your furry paw family member(s) is at home, we strive to make Furry Paws Lodge your pet’s favorite place. Our furry paw guests are our number one priority.

Please help us make your pet’s stay the best possible.

We require you to provide:

Vaccination Records

We require up-to-date vaccination records and must receive them prior to check-in. You or your veterinarian can email them to us as FurryPawsLodge@gmail.com or upload on-line via website. Please note that vaccinations are not a 100% safe guard and despite all of our efforts to eliminate the spread of disease (e.g. kennel cough), FPL is not liable for related issues

Emergency Contact

We need to have emergency contact information in the event we cannot reach you.

We encourage you to bring:

Food

  • PLEASE provide us with THEIR food. It is important that they stay on their regular diet to minimize stomach upset.
  • We have a refrigerator and freezer for storing wet foods.
  • Please limit the size of food containers; pre-bagging meals is greatly appreciated.
  • We provide clean bowls for each meal; we have both standard stainless steel and slow feeder bowls.
  • If you are boarding more than one dog, please inform us if we need to separate them for feeding.

Treats

If they have favorite treats, we are happy to give them per your direction (excluding rawhides or other treats that require supervision ).

Unwashed t-shirt or blanket

An old shirt or blanket with your scent helps them feel more at home. We provide raised cots for all our guests and extra blankets if needed.

Medications:

Bring extra

Please make sure you bring enough for their stay plus a day or two in case you are delayed unexpectedly

Written Instructions

Upon check-in, we will review the administration of any medications to make certain nothing is missed. Written instructions are appreciated. Do they take their medications well or are their issues?

Medicine Treats

Please include pill pockets, PB, cheese, or some treat that helps the medicine go down.

Despite Best Efforts

Every effort will be made to administer medications as directed but if the pet is uncooperative, doses may be missed.

Medication by injection?

We cannot accept any pets requiring medication by injection

No Fee

We do not charge a fee for administering medications.

Please Leave at Home

Unreplaceable Items

Favorite blankets, clothing, toys, etc.

Rawhides, Bowls, Large Beds

Upon Arrival at Furry Paws Lodge (FPL):

Pet restraint

Please have your furry paw family members restrained appropriately.

Go for a walk

Pups, we ask that you go for a walk in our side yards prior to coming inside. You will get play time in the play yards upon arrival but we know you are excited and apt to be in a rush to go potty.

Lobby Etiquette

  • We also ask that only one pet family be in our small lobby or at the door at a time; this will minimize the stress for all of our four legged guests (two legged ones as well).
  • Please restrain pups from the kitty room; they are not there for entertainment.

Please respect our hours of operation

  • Monday - Saturday  08:00 am - 04:30 pm
  • Sunday 12:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Please call us if you’re running more than 30 minutes early or late

Arrive during our scheduled check-in and pick-up times

  • Monday - Saturday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Sunday - 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm

Plan on enough time for us to gather all of the necessary information during the check-in process. We will review feeding, medication, and socialization habits each and every time.

Grooming services

We encourage you to add a bath and nail trim during your pup’s stay at the lodge. Typically, this is done on the day of pick-up but if that is before noon, our staff will do it the day prior.

What We Do

to make Furry Paws Lodge your pet’s favorite staycation destination:

One-to-one attention at regular intervals throughout the day

If they aren’t happy, we aren't happy

We do whatever it takes to make them comfortable:

  • Sit in their kennel with them,
  • Hand feed them,
  • Couch time in the lobby,
  • and MORE.

High energy furry paws

We highly recommend that you consider purchasing time in the Furry Paws Dog Park. This will give them time to run and play in our 2+ acre dog park with one-to-one time with a staff member.

Check-in during their stay

We welcome you to contact us during your family member’s stay. While we cannot promise pictures we will be glad to share with you how they are doing. You may call us during business hours at 615-888-4729. You may also text us at 615-307-1275 (we no longer respond via FaceBook Messenger).

Health and Safety

Our number one priority

Cleanliness

  • Veterinarian grade cleaning products utilized throughout,
  • Kennels are cleaned between each and every guest,
  • Common areas cleaned regularly during the day,
  • Play yards cleaned after each guest, and
  • All areas receive a deep clean on regular intervals.

Climate controlled kennels

  • All pets have their own private space.
  • Our large kennels have 24 hour access to their own outdoor run. They also have access to a play yard multiple times throughout the day but they do not play with the other dogs unless they are of the same family. This is for both the safety of the dogs and staff
  • Smaller dogs, 20 pounds or less, have monitored play time with each other and access to their play yard throughout the day
  • All pups have regular access to spacious play yards with sanitary turf

Fleas or Worms?

  • If your pet arrives with fleas, we will give them a bath with flea treatment. This expense will be added to your bill.
  • If your pet arrives with worms, we may need to coordinate an early pick-up to limit the risk to other furry paw guests.

Illnesses

If your pet is not feeling well, we will contact the you, your emergency contact, pet’s veterinarian, or an emergency veterinarian clinic as we deem appropriate. Typically it is not serious and only a call to you is necessary. If it is more serious, every effort will be to first contact you but our priority is to do what we deem to be in the best interest of our furry paw guest. The owner is responsible for veterinary expenses.

Storms?

If your pup is storm sensitive, please let us know at check-in so that we can review the best plan of action. We adjust the volume on our radio that plays throughout the building according to the weather to help.

Pest Control

  • We have quarterly pest control services
  • Periodic treatment for play yards and dog park
  • Veterinarian grade cleaning products utilized between each and every guest

Security

Although we do not have staff present 24/7, we do have security cameras that are monitored regularly. We also have dog loving neighbors within yards of the lodge.

Service Exceptions

Aggressive Behavior

If your pup shows aggression to other guests or our staff, we reserve the right to any of the following interventions:

  • We may isolate them resulting in family dogs not sharing the same kennel for an additional fee.
  • If in the unfortunate situation that a dog causes an injury to another furry paw guest or staff member, the owner will be responsible for corresponding medical expenses.
  • Repeat offenders will not be able to return to the lodge.

In Heat?

We respectfully request that you not bring them to the lodge for any services while your pet is in heat. We want to minimize the stress that a dog or cat in heat has on the other furry paw guests. If your furry paws is fully functional, please have a back-up plan in case they come in heat while they are here.
