Kennel Attendant Job Description
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Providing daily care for the dogs and cats boarding at the Lodge,
- Involved with scheduling boarding appointments,
- Cleaning kennels, runs, and play yards,
- Bathing, exercising, feeding, administering medication, and monitoring their behavior to insure the well-being of the furry paws at our facility,
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn industry standards, with respect to the breed, for the specific care tasks,
- Able to lift 40 pounds,
- Able to lift cat/dog,
- Basic grooming: brushing, bathing, drying dog, and trim dog nails,
- Work as a team member to insure the safety and health of pets in our care,
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment,
- 18 years of age,
- Reliable transportation,
- Passion to help and care for animals,
- Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner,
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Please note that salary expectations depend on number of days worked. Pay is hourly with commission opportunities; paychecks are issued weekly.
